After an autism diagnosis, parents often have many questions about programs, therapies, and supports. With so much information available, it can be difficult to know what options are available and what may be the right fit for their child and family.
This seminar will introduce Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and Early Intensive Behavioural Intervention (EIBI). We will discuss what ABA is, what it is not, and how ABA is used to support children with autism.
Parents will learn how ABA programs are developed, how goals are chosen to support each child’s individual needs, and the safeguards used to ensure practices are respectful and ethical. The session will also address common misconceptions about ABA and help parents feel more informed when making decisions about supports for their child.
